Dalarna University

Below are short overviews of the research clusters. You can find more information on the projects in the list at the bottom of the page.

Culture, Identity and Representations(Dalarna University College)
(Kultur, identitet och gestaltning)
Culture, Identity and Representations is one of six research profiles at Dalarna University College. The project The World Heritages: Global Discourse and Local Implementations (WHILD, Världsarvets världar), now concluded, was a part of this cluster. It included  a number of sub-projects. One  dealt with Falun as a world heritage site from different perspectives, and another project studied  a diamond mine in South Africa.  The main project is finished, but there are sub-projects that deal  with what happens locally at a world heritage site; they study which conflicts arise and whether  the local population feels they have been a part, etc.
In this cluster there is a wide spectrum of research on how culture and social identities are created and communicated, and it produces questions concerning cultural meetings, conflicts of values and how unwritten rules establish boundaries for our self-perception.

The Academy of Education and Humanities  (Dalarna University College)
